Back by popular demand, Bruce McDonald is leading a tour of the rock pools giving participants the opportunity to learn the thrill of foraging, the fun of cooking and eating from the shore. Bruce will go through the basic identification of the major culinary seaweeds, where to look and how to find them on your local beach. He will show how to gauge the best conditions of tide, weather and understand the uses of seaweed in cooking with a small sampling offered at the end of the walk. Bring a bucket, a knife or scissors and suitable footwear.

Come along to our playground by the sea, bring your little teddies and meet big teddy, other characters, and listen to their stories. Don’t forget your sandwiches. Then gather up “Teddy”and friends and take them along to the Puppet Theatre in the Stella Maris.
“THE SALTEES YACHT CHALLENGE” 14.30 – 17.00
Contact: Commodore John Crowe Time and Tide – all boats to leave the harbour at 14.30. Presentation of prizes will take place in Kehoe’s Pub and Parlour at 18.00. If adverse weather conditions prevail, this spectacular parade of sail will be re-scheduled for 14.30 on Sunday
NATURE WALK WITH JIM HURLEY 14.00 – 16.00
MEET AT THE PROMENADE BESIDE THEPLAYGROUND
This beautiful and exceptional looped walk (4.5km) takes about 2 hours to complete at a leisurely pace with frequent stops along the way to explore the natural world. Learn about castles, birds and bees, sand dunes, flora and fauna, famine works and areas of special conservation. Park the car (Car Parking available beside Playground) and join us on this unique experience

Timmy gets Swimmy & Pirates Ahoy
We all know how Timmy loves fun and playing with his friends, but no-one knows he is afraid of the water. Come and join Timmy as his friends (and his NOT friends) try to persuade him to take a dip. Great fun for younger children and their ‘minders’. Pirates are generally not very nice people but in Pirates Ahoy they try to show how pirates can be nice too (well, that’s their plan anyway!)
